GRENIER-FRANCO, 80 years or reliability and excellence

Located in the Rhône Valley between Lyon and Valence, Grenier-Franco manufactures products for the Winegrowing, Arboriculture, Forestry and Tropical Crops sectors, including equipment for soil preparation, scrub clearance and vine lifting.

Over the past 20 years it has diversified into the manufacture of industrial handling machinery.
Its size (an SME of 20 employees) and its know-how enable it to be very responsive in terms of the design and manufacture of its specialised equipment.

Known for nearly 80 years for its professional approach and the reliability of its products, it is able to adapt according to its customers’ needs, offering equipment used in very demanding conditions such as scrub clearance, ripping, etc.

1934 – The Beginnings

The story begins in 1934 when Célestin Grenier opens his blacksmith’s workshop.

The early days of the mechanisation of agriculture were just beginning and very quickly the company develops towards the modification of animal-drawn equipment for use in mechanical traction applications.

Manufacture of its own range of equipment began in the 1950s.

Developments…

20 years later, the higher power of wheeled tractors enable them to perform work previously carried out by crawler tractors. Mr. Grenier transforms balance drag ploughs into land-breaking ploughs with 3-point hitch mounting.

1987 – a merger with Mr. Franco‘s company opens up a new market, forestry.

…focussing on export

2001 – the takeover by KIRPY enables Grenier-Franco to expand its sphere of development from South-West France into a countrywide and international operation.

2004 – Seeking to extend its Forestry range, it takes over production of the Crabe brand Forest Cover Crop.

2011 – Grenier-Franco acquires Mr Becker‘s company, a specialist in the design of adaptable tools for diggers and mini-diggers used in forestry soil preparation and maintenance.
